Cardinals Option Starter

Well, this one doesn't come as much of a surprise.

The St. Louis Cardinals have optioned starter Dakota Hudson to Triple-A Memphis.

Hudson was removed from the Cardinals' rotation last weekend to make room for the return of starter Jack Flaherty from the injured list. However, the Cardinals look like they want to keep Hudson stretched out, thus, sending him down to the minors where he'll continue to get starts.

The twenty-seven-year-old has had an up-and-down season, illustrated by his latest outing on August 30th against the Cincinnati Reds, where he allowed nine hits, five earned runs and one walk over just 4.2 innings of work.

Hudson heads to the minors, leaving behind a 4.43 ERA, a 1.42 WHIP and 72 strikeouts over 126 innings. He's made 24 starts in the majors this season and has recorded seven wins.
