Boston Red Sox Infielder Could Return

According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, Trevor Story could return to the lineup during the team's final series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Abraham noted that Story would not be able to get back into the lineup before then due to his recent IL placement. Yet, the Red Sox are not ruling out the possibility of having him get into a few more games before the year is out if the seven-year veteran is good to go by then, of course.

Story's first season with the Red Sox has been, well, underwhelming. As Boston's big free-agent signing of this past offseason, he has played in just 94 games, where he has 16 home runs, 66 RBIs, and a .238 batting average. That is less than what Boston expected of him, but he will be aiming to bounce back in 2023 from here.
