Boston Red Sox First Baseman Done For Season

Franchy Cordero's 2022 season is officially over, as the Boston Red Sox have placed him on the 60-day injured list.

It is an unfortunate end to what has been a career-best season for Cordero. In 84 games, he set new career-highs with eight home runs and 29 RBIs, so he certainly had his best year at the plate when it came to power. However, he continued to struggle to hit for contact, as his .219 batting average effectively displays.

With the Red Sox essentially out of the playoff race and Cordero not having a notable role with the team, it isn't the end of the world that he is done for the year. However, it is always rough to see a player's season end early, so here's to hoping that he has a speedy recovery.
