Atlanta Braves Pitcher Clears Waivers

Earlier this week, the Atlanta Braves designated Jay Jackson for assignment. He has now cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A because of it.

Jackson appeared in just two games with the Braves this season, where he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings. Overall, he was solid when called upon, but it just didn't happen nearly enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster. Yet, he will now be remaining as a part of their pitching depth. If the Braves end up wanting to call him up, he will need to be placed again on the 40-man roster beforehand.

With Triple-A Gwinnett this season, Jackson has done very well. In 17 appearances, he has an excellent 1.53 ERA, so they will be happy to have him stick with the club from here. Let's see if he can keep this momentum and end the year on a high note.
