Athletics Recall Top Pitching Prospect to Make MLB Debut Thursday

The Oakland Athletic's manager Mark Kotsay confirmed that the team's top pitching prospect Ken Waldichuk will be promoted to make his major league debut in a start against the Washington Nationals on Thursday.

Waldichuk is one of two callups for Oakland on Thursday as the MLB rosters expand.

He was acquired from the New York Yankees at the August 2nd trade deadline as part of the Frankie Montas deal. The twenty-four-year-old has pitched to a strong 2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 137 strikeouts over 95 innings this season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He's made 21 starts.
