Yankees Infielder Day-to-Day With Toe Inflammation; Won't Require IL Stint

The thirty-four-year-old infielder is set to miss his third straight game due to right big toe soreness.

This has been an issue that has bothered DJ LeMahieu for the last few weeks. The New York Yankees infielder also reportedly required a cortisone injection during last month's All-Star break.

Testing yesterday showed "inflammation", Yankees' manager Aaron Boone said. LeMahieu is day-to-day and is receiving treatment and using orthotics to treat the pressure he feels when trying to swing.

LeMahieu is batting a solid .279, with 12 home runs, 43 RBIs and four stolen bases at the top of the Yankees' lineup this season.

He should be able to play through the injury in the coming days, barring any setbacks.
