Reds Lose Starter and Infielder to IL

The Cincinnati Reds are losing two players to the injured list.

The Reds have placed starter Graham Ashcraft on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 21, with right bicep soreness.

The twenty-four-year-old was scheduled to start on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies, but that obviously won't happen now.

Ashcraft has been a breakout starter for the Reds this season, posting a 3.97 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 64 strikeouts over 93 innings. It's unclear right now how long he'll be sidelined.

The Reds have also placed infielder Matt Reynolds on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 22, with left hip soreness.

Reynolds has reportedly been dealing with a left hip issue since last weekend and will be granted an extended period of time to rest and recover. He is batting .246 on the season, with three home runs, 20 RBIs and five stolen bases.
