Pirates Place Third Baseman on Injured List

It's been a disappointing season for the youngster, who many had high hopes for entering 2022.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 13, with a mid-back muscle strain.

This has been an issue bothering Hayes for a little over a week apparently, and now he'll get some extra time to rest and receive treatment for it.

The twenty-five-year-old has a triple slash line of .251/.323/.358, with six home runs, 35 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 96 games this season.

Many thought Hayes would take a big step forward this season, after hitting .257 with 49 runs scored, six home runs, 38 RBIs and nine stolen bases over 96 games last season. It was not to be, however, as Hayes has really put up the exact same numbers, slightly worse, as last season.

Hayes was a first-round pick (32nd Overall) of the Pirates in the 2015 MLB Draft.
