Phillies Still Have No Timetable on Starter's Return; Rest of Season in Question

While the Philadelphia Phillies fans are celebrating the imminent return of Bryce Harper, their starter Zach Eflin is still without a timetable to return.

There still is good news regarding him, however. Eflin has been throwing off of flat ground in recent days, a small step but a positive sign nonetheless for him.

Eflin has been sidelined since late June, as he's been dealing with patellofemoral pain in his right knee. It still remains unclear when he'll begin throwing off a mound again. That's the bad news.

With just a month left in the regular season, it appears more and more likely that we won't see Zach Eflin return this year.

The twenty-eight-year-old was having an up and down season, like usual for him, posting a 4.37 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 56 strikeouts over 68 innings. He had a 3-5 record before going down with the injury.

The Phillies are currently 67-55 on the season, putting them in the second NL Wild Card spot, one-and-a-half games up on the Milwaukee Brewers.
