Phillies DFA Pitcher

The Philadelphia Phillies claimed him off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on August 2nd and, now, have designated him for assignment.

That didn't take long.

It's been a rough season for pitcher Andrew Vasquez.

In the major leagues this season, Vasquez posted an ugly 8.10 ERA over 6.2 innings pitched for the Blue Jays. He was then released by the team and swiftly picked up by the Phillies, who sent him to their Triple-A affiliate team.

In the minors this season, Vasquez has been good, posting a 2.25 ERA, 0.56 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts across 16 innings.
