Padres Place Catcher on Injured List; Recall Catcher from Triple-A

The San Diego Padres are losing their catcher. 

The club has placed catcher Jorge Alfaro on the 10-day injured list with right knee discomfort. 

Additionally, C Jorge Alfaro has been placed on the 10-day IL (right knee inflammation; retro to Aug 25) and RHP Yu Darvish has returned from the paternity leave list.

This is apparently an issue that has been bothering Alfaro for a while now, so he'll finally get an extended period to rest and fully recover. 

In 72 games this season, Alfaro has slashed .252/.287/.395, with seven home runs, 36 RBIs and 25 runs scored.

The Padres have recalled catcher Luis Campusano in a corresponding move. 

The twenty-three-year-old has been fantastic in the minors this season, slashing .298/.363/.483, with 14 home runs and 60 RBI in 81 games. He'll provide some depth for the Padres until Alfaro is ready to return.
