Oakland Athletics Sign Catcher

The Oakland Athletics have signed Beau Taylor to a minor league contract. 

The timing of this signing is particularly intriguing, as trade talks involving catcher Sean Murphy have been heating up. Thus, perhaps a move is getting close, and Oakland has decided to bring in Taylor for added insurance.

Taylor has 25 games of MLB experience on his resume over three seasons. During them, he has hit two home runs, four RBIs, and a .118 batting average.
