New York Yankees Call Up Pitcher

The New York Yankees have called up Greg Weissert to their major league roster.

Weissert immediately made his debut for the Yankees on Thursday following the call-up, and things went pretty horribly for the rookie. In 0.1 innings pitched, he allowed three earned runs and hit two batters. He will be hoping for the chance to make a second appearance and redeem himself from here.

In 40 games this season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Weissert has a 2-1 record and 1.76 ERA. Overall, he has been excellent in Triple-A, and it will be intriguing to see if it can translate over to the majors from here.
