New York Mets Designate Outfielder For Assignment

The New York Mets have designated Nick Plummer for assignment.

Plummer appeared in his first 14 MLB games for the Mets this season. During them, he hit two home runs and had six RBIs. Yet, he struggled to hit for contact, unfortunately, as he went 4-for-29 at the plate. That just wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster, and now he is heading to waivers.

There could be a team out there willing to take a shot on Plummer. He's still only 25 years old and has the potential to improve, so let's see if a team in need of some outfield depth takes a chance on him.
