Nationals DFA 16 Year Veteran Pitcher

If this is the end of the road for him, what a career it's been.

The Washinton Nationals have designated pitcher Tyler Clippard for assignment.

Clippard had allowed four earned runs over just five innings of work this season with the Nationals. Not great. But, he's 37 years old, and he's had a great career up to this point.

The right-handed pitcher has played with the New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins over the course of his 16-year career.

In those 16 seasons, Clippard has a very strong ERA of 3.16, a 1.11 WHIP and a 956:344 K/BB ratio over 872 innings pitched.

If this truly is the end of the road for Tyler Clippard, then it's been a great career for him.
