More Legal Trouble For Marcell Ozuna

This was not what the Atlanta Braves needed to hear. Outfielder Marcell Ozuna, who missed most of the 2021 season after a sordid tale of domestic abuse, is now in legal trouble once again.

Ozuna has been arrested for driving under the influence. The 31-year-old was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail at 4:39 a.m. Friday morning.

Last season, Ozuna was arrested on May 29, 2021 on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and battery after police officers said they witnessed him attacking his wife. He was placed on administrative leave for the balance of the season, while he was suspended retroactively for 20 games.

Ozuna has been a shell of himself this season, hitting a career-low .214 with 107 strikeouts in 107 games. He does have 20 homers.

He still has $41M left on his contract over the next couple of years. It's unclear what the future holds for him after his second arrest in two years, but this could very well be the end for him in Atlanta.
