MLB Rumors: Detroit Tigers Pitcher To Stay Put

According to Evan Petzold, the Tigers will not be trading Tarik Skubal before today's trade deadline.

This is a bit of a surprising twist, as trade talks centering around Skubal were reportedly heating up. Yet, the Tigers have had a change of heart and will keep Skubal for the remainder of this season at least.

Skubal is currently in his third season with the Tigers, so he will be under team control for several more seasons. Thus, the Tigers are in a position where they do not need to rush a move. Perhaps they will receive better offers for him during the offseason, and a trade could occur then.
