Giants Option Rookie Outfielder

He just hasn't been the same player since rejoining the San Francisco Giants last month.

As a result, the Giants are sending him down to Triple-A Sacramento, in hopes he can find his swing again.
The Giants also needed to clear space on the active roster for Zack Littell, who's returning from the injured list.

The twenty-six-year-old rookie has hit an ugly .179, with one home run and eight RBIs in 29 games since his return. Before that, Gonzalez was enjoying a fantastic season, slashing .302/.361/.447, with three home runs, 24 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 49 games.

Hopefully, Gonzalez can find his stride again and rejoin the Giants down the stretch.

The Giants are currently 59-58 on the season, five-and-a-half games back of the San Diego Padres for the third NL Wild Card spot.
