Cleveland Guardians Promote Top Prospect

The Cleveland Guardians have promoted top prospect Tyler Freeman to their major league roster.

Freeman has spent this season with Triple-A Columbus and has looked quite solid in the process. In 72 games on the year, he has six home runs, 44 RBIs, and a .280 batting average. That isn't a bad year at all, and now he will be aiming to translate this success over to the majors.

Freeman will provide the Guardians with more depth in their infield. It doesn't hurt that he offers solid versatility, too, as he can play both second base and shortstop. Alas, let's see how he does from here.
