Boston Red Sox Designate Infielder For Assignment

The Boston Red Sox have designated Yolmer Sanchez for assignment.

Sanchez has played in 14 games with the Red Sox this season, and it's fair to say that he has had his struggles. In 37 at-bats, he has just four hits, which equates to an ugly .108 batting average. That kind of production just isn't going to cut it, and now he has been removed from the 40-man roster because of it.

Sanchez could get some interest through the waiver wire, however. He is a former Gold Glove Award winner and is a versatile infielder. Thus, let's see if he can get a new home from here.
