Atlanta Braves Designate Outfielder For Assignment

The Atlanta Braves have designated Travis Demeritte for assignment.

Demeritte appeared in 26 games for the Braves this season, where he had three home runs, six RBIs, and a .213 batting average. He has spent more time in the minors, however, so that likely played a role in Atlanta deciding to remove him from their 40-man roster.

It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to take a chance on Demeritte from here. He could provide a bit more outfield depth, and that's never a bad thing. In 92 career games, he has six home runs, 20 RBIs, and a .216 batting average.
