Athletics Place Outfielder on Injured List

The Oakland Athletics are losing their outfielder.

The A's have placed Ramon Laureano on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.
Laureano did not play the series opener on Monday against the Texas Rangers due to feeling discomfort in his left side. He initially felt it in Sunday's game against the Houston Astros, leading to him being lifted from the game.

Although the severity of the injury is not yet clear, oblique injuries are not typically minor and Laureano could end up being sidelined for several weeks with the issue.

The twenty-eight-year-old outfielder leaves behind a disappointing .223/.300/.395, with 12 home runs, 29 RBIs and 10 stolen bases over 84 games.

Laureano drew much interest from teams around the league at the trade deadline but was, ultimately, never moved. There should be more clarity regarding the injury later this week.
