Reds Get Starter Back This Weekend

The Reds will get Tyler Mahle back this weekend, as they reportedly plan to activate him for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Out since earlier this month with a right shoulder strain, a recent MRI revealed no structural damage to the twenty-seven year old's shoulder, clearing him for return this weekend.

Mahle has had a rough season so far, but had shown signs of life before sustaining his injury. In 92 innings pitched this season, the durable right-handed pitcher has posted a 4.48 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 102 strikeouts.

The in depth stats reveal that Mahle has had a much better season than his results have suggested, with the pitcher being above-league average in average exit velocity, hard hit percentage, expected weighted on-base percentage, expected ERA, expected batting average, expected slugging percentage, barrel percentage, strikeout percentage and whiff percentage.

Expect Mahle to post much better stats in the second half of the season.
