Phillies Option Pitcher; Activate Two Pitchers From the Injured List

The Phillies have optioned pitcher Cristopher Sanchez to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The twenty-five year old holds a solid 3.80 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 23 innings. He'll most likely rejoin Lehigh Valley's rotation.

The Phillies have activated JoJo Romero from the 60-day injured list. Romero had Tommy John surgery last May and is finally ready to make his MLB season debut, as he rejoins the Phillies bullpen. The twenty-five year old did not allow a run in 10 minor league rehab innings. In nine innings pitched last season, Romero held a 7.00 ERA, 1.78 WHIP, and eight strikeouts.

The Phillies also activated pitcher Connor Brogdon from the Covid-19 injured list. Brogdon has been out since late June. In 17.2 innings pitched this season, the twenty-seven year old holds a 2.04 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts.
