Phillies Infielder to Return Following All-Star Break

Nick Maton's rehab assignment has been going very well.

In nine games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, Maton has batted .342, with four RBIs, four walks, and one stolen base. He also has four doubles and six runs scored in those games.

Maton is progressing from a right shoulder strain that's kept him out since the beginning of June. He suffered the injury after making a fantastic diving catch on June 3rd, against the Angels.

The twenty-five year old has only appeared in six at-bats for the Phillies this season, but has impressed. He's three-for-six in those at-bats, with one home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored.

He'll likely return as a bench option for the Phillies but should get increased playing time moving forward.

In 52 games last season, Maton batted .256/.323/.385, with two home runs, 14 RBIs, and two stolen bases.

The Phillies are currently 49-43 midway through the season, sitting in the third NL Wild Card spot.
