MLB Rumors: A Yankees Offer That Could Land Juan Soto

Any look at the teams that could land superstar Juan Soto must include the New York Yankees. They have the prospects, the star power, and the market to lure a player of Soto's caliber as well as to convince the Washington Nationals to make a deal.

Soto was seen fraternizing with several Yankees players at the All-Star Game.

The Offer:

Any package from the Yankees would have to start with one of  their prized young shortstops—the top two players in their system—No. 1 Anthony Volpe, or No. 2 Oswald Peraza.

Volpe is currently hitting .253 with an .812 OPS at Double-A, but he's been coming on strong of late after adjusting to the higher-level. He has a ridiculous 35 stolen bases already in 77 games, to go along with 12 homers and 42 RBIs. Last year at Single-A, he totaled 27 HR and 33 SB with a 1.027 OPS. And the kid can field as well.

Peraza has also been coming on, at Triple-A, and now totals 12 homers and 20 stolen bases.

Another prime prospect that the Yankees have been loath to trade is outfielder Jasson Dominguez (No. 3 on their list). He's been called one of the most hyped international prospects ever. The 19-year-old is currently at High-A with a projected arrival date of 2024 in the big leagues.

Throw in a top pitching prospect, like Ken Waldichuk or Luis Gil, who has major league experience, and the Nationals have themselves a top prospect haul.

From the major league roster, the Yankees might have to also include a proven young major leaguer in Gleyber Torres
