Brewers Sign Veteran Reliever

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed left-handed reliever Jake McGee to a major-league deal, according to Ken Rosenthal.

Mcgee was released by the Giants on July 14, after posting an ugly 7.17 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with just 11 strikeouts in 21 innings. He has converted three of six save opportunities this season.

In his 13-year career, McGee has enjoyed success in the majors where he's posted a 3.64 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 79 saves, and 599 strikeouts in 556 innings.

Maybe the Brewers can rekindle the old McGee, the one we saw as recently as last season when he posted a 2.72 ERA with 31 saves.
