MLB Rumors: Angels Shopping Veteran Catcher

After a very promising start to the 2022 season, the Angels looked like they finally would be heading back to the postseason. Yet, they have fallen off immensely since then and currently sport a 39-53 record because of it. With this, they are destined to be sellers yet again this deadline season, and Kurt Suzuki is a player reportedly available.

Teams looking for a bit more insurance behind the plate could target Suzuki. In 30 games this season, the 38-year-old has two home runs, 10 RBIs, and a .180 batting average. Although it's been a down year for him, he is a serviceable backup option at this juncture of his career.

Suzuki's experience also makes him a solid option for a contender. In 1,614 career games, he has 141 home runs, 725 RBIs, and a .256 batting average. With that, he is a one-time All-Star and one-time World Series champ.
