Royals Release Outfielder

The Kansas City Royals have released JaCoby Jones from his minor league contract.

Jones spent the entirety of this season with Triple-A Omaha. It's fair to say that he struggled, as he had a .214 batting average in 38 games. That wasn't enough for him to land a call-up, and he will now be hoping to find another home elsewhere.

Teams could express interest in Jones, as he spent each of the last six previous seasons in the majors with the Tigers. In 352 career games, he has 32 home runs, 98 RBIs, and a .212 batting average.
