Orioles Pitching Prospect Tearing Up Minors

Baltimore Orioles number five prospect D.L. Hall is wreaking AAA havoc.

Hall is undoubtedly one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. Last night, the starter struck out a whopping 11 batters in just 4 1/3 innings of work.

This performance came on the same day that the Orioles sent down starter Bruce Zimmermann. This pitcher's next start would be this coming Tuesday against the Washington Nationals. There is something of a chance that Hall could get the call to fill in for Zimmermann. Now that Orioles number one pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez is out for an extended absence with a lat injury, Hall may get the opportunity to start for Baltimore.

So far this season, Hall has an elite strikeout-rate. Over 38 innings, the pitcher has thrown 66 Ks. He's also put up a 3.52 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.

Hall wouldn't be the first prospect the Orioles have called up this season. A couple weeks ago, the team promoted catcher and number one overall prospect, Adley Rutschman.

All-in-all it seems that D.L. Hall has a good shot at joining Baltimore's pitching staff shortly.
