Diamondbacks Infielder Placed On 60-Day Injured List

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be without Nick Ahmed for a good amount of time, as the infielder has been placed on the 60-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation.

Ahmed has been limited to just 17 games this season, so this recent development is certainly deflating for both him and the Diamondbacks. During those contests, he hit three home runs, seven RBIs, and a sported a .231 batting average. Yet, with this most recent news, the 816-game veteran will not have the chance to build on these totals until at least August.

At this point of the season, the Diamondbacks have a 28-31 record and are trying to stay in the Wild Card race. Losing a player like Ahmed isn't going to help their chances of playing playoff baseball this fall.
