Orioles Infielder Heading To Triple-A

Earlier this week, the Baltimore Orioles designated Kelvin Gutierrez for assignment. Now, after clearing waivers, he will be joining their Triple-A squad in Norfolk. 

Gutierrez will now be hoping to land an eventual call-up back to Baltimore's major league roster. With the Orioles not possessing the strongest of rosters, he very well could end up back with the team if he performs well in the minors. 

Gutierrez has made appearances in the majors in each of the last four seasons. In 121 career games between the Royals and Orioles, he has four home runs, 34 RBIs, and a .228 batting average.
