Mariners Send Pitcher Down To Triple-A

Earlier this week, Roenis Elias was called up by the Seattle Mariners. Now, just a few days later, he is heading back to Triple-A Tacoma.

Elias pitched in one game for the Mariners this season, where he allowed one run in an inning pitched. Overall, the sample size was far too small for any real judgment. Instead, this move is being made because Drew Steckenrider is ready to return to the hill.

Elias didn't lose his spot on the Mariners' 40-man roster, so there is still a chance that he will be called up again before the season is done. It doesn't hurt that he comes with a good amount of MLB experience, too. In 127 career games between the Red Sox, Nationals, and Mariners, he has a 22-24 record and 3.98 ERA.
