Cubs Call Up Pitcher

The Chicago Cubs have called up Robert Gsellman from Triple-A.

Gsellman signed a minor league contract with the Cubs during the offseason. There was reason to believe that an eventual call-up could occur, as he appeared in six straight seasons with the New York Mets before 2022. Now, the veteran is back in the majors and will be hoping to stay there.

In 176 career games with the Mets, Gsellman has a 20-16 record and 4.59 ERA. He has experience as both a reliever and a starter, so it will be intriguing to see how the Cubs elect to utilize him from here.
