Blue Jays Release Veteran Outfielder
The Toronto Blue Jays have released Dexter Fowler from his minor league contract.
Fowler requested this release and now will be aiming to make another team's major league roster from here. In three games with Triple-A Buffalo, he had five hits in 12 at-bats, so he certainly looked solid. Yet, it wasn't enough to get that much-needed call-up to Toronto, so, understandably, he will be looking for a home elsewhere.
Teams in need of some outfield depth should be giving Fowler a call. In 1,460 career games between the Rockies, Astros, Cubs, Cardinals, and Angels, he has 127 home runs, 517 RBIs, and a .259 batting average. With that, he is a one-time All-Star and World Series champ.
