Angels Bring Back Outfielder

The Los Angeles Angels have signed Juan Lagares to a minor league contract.

Lagares is quite the familiar face, as he appeared in 112 games for the club last season. In them, he had six home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .236 batting average. Although those offensive numbers are not jaw-dropping by any stretch of the imagination, his value as a player comes from his excellent fielding ability.

Lagares' overall experience and previous connection with the organization could lead to an eventual call-up this season. In 830 career games between the Mets and Angels, he has 31 home runs, 217 RBIs, and a .252 batting average. With that, he also has a Gold Glove on his resume.
