Twins Acquire Prospect From Padres

Earlier this month, the Minnesota Twins and San Diego Padres completed a trade that centered around Chris Paddack. The Twins were due a player to be named later, and now that said player has been announced. Pitching prospect Brayan Medina will be joining the Twins' system.

Medina is a 19-year-old pitcher who just began his professional career last season. In 14 appearances in the minor leagues last year, he had a 0-3 record, 5.88 ERA, and 49 strikeouts. This obviously wasn't the best of starts, but he is still extremely young and has plenty of time to develop.

Medina will likely need several years before making the majors, but it's never a bad thing to add a pitching prospect. Later down the road, it will be intriguing to see if he ends up being a Twin. Time will tell on that front.
