Tigers Send Pitcher To Triple-A

The Detroit Tigers have assigned Bryan Garcia to Triple-A Toledo.

Garcia was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week. Due to the fact that he has cleared waivers, the team was now able to send him back to the minor leagues. Although this is certainly a discouraging development for the 27-year-old, he will now be aiming to get himself an eventual promotion later down the road.

Garcia made appearances with the Tigers in each of the three previous seasons. In 72 games with Detroit, he has a 5-3 record and 6.12 ERA. His 2020 season should provide some optimism over him, though, as he had a 2-1 record and 1.66 ERA in 26 contests. If he can get back to that form, he absolutely could find himself back in the majors - whether that's with the Tigers or elsewhere.

Nevertheless, before any future call-up comes to fruition, Garcia will be spending time down in Toledo.
