Reds Pitcher Suffers Setback

The Cincinnati Reds have shut down Mike Minor due to a setback he suffered during his first rehab start for Double-A Chattanooga.

Minor has been dealing with a shoulder injury, and there was reason to believe that it was going to be a short-term ailment. Yet, due to this setback, his expected recovery time is now undetermined. For now, at least, he will not be pitching and simply resting his injury.

The Reds acquired Minor from the Kansas City Royals during the offseason for Amir Garrett. Once he is healthy, he will be aiming to bounce back from a rough 2021 season. In 28 games, he had an 8-12 record and 5.05 ERA. Yet, due to this setback, he will have to wait longer to begin his journey to doing so.
