Red Sox Ace Placed On 60-Day Injured List

The Boston Red Sox have placed Chris Sale on the 60-day injured list. It was previously reported that the star pitcher has a stress fracture in his rib, but now we have a better idea of the severity of his injury.

Sale has dealt with significant injury trouble over the last few seasons, and 2022 isn't changing that.
With this development, he will be out until at least June. Yet, if he does show much improvement by the time his first stint of the 60-day IL ends, he of course will have to miss even more time.

After missing the 2020 season, Sale appeared in nine games with Boston last season. In them, he had a 5-1 record and 3.16 ERA. Overall, for a pitcher who missed so much action over the last handful of years, he didn't look too out of place. Unfortunately, however, he has to be sidelined yet again.

Here's to hoping that Sale is able to have a speedy recovery and return to the mound by June.
