Orioles Top Prospect To Miss Beginning Of Season

For Baltimore Orioles fans who wanted to see Adley Rutschman play on Opening Day - we have some bad news for you. The 24-year-old will miss some time due to a triceps strain. Oriole GM Mike Elias also noted that he hopes Rutschman can play in the next few weeks.

Although it is hard to hear that Rutschman will not be able to start the season with Baltimore, it's also encouraging that this has the potential to be a short-term injury. With this, there is a good chance that the team's top prospect could be with the Orioles soon.

In 123 games last season between Double-A and Triple-A, Rutschman had 23 home runs, 75 RBIs, and a .285 batting average. These numbers are very impressive when noting that it was his first taste at either level. Thus, it seems very likely that he is ready to take that next step with the Orioles.

Nevertheless, here's to hoping Rutschman has a speedy recovery and can get back on the field very soon - whether that's with Baltimore or back in Triple-A.
