Nationals Claim Outfielder Off Waivers

The Washington Nationals have claimed Josh Palacios off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Palacios will be beginning his tenure with the Nationals organization with Triple-A Rochester. From here, the 26-year-old will be aiming to earn himself a call-up to the major league squad.

Palacios got his first taste of major-league action last season with the Blue Jays. In 13 games with Toronto, he had zero home runs, four RBIs, and a .200 batting average. In his 35 at-bats, he notably had 11 strikeouts, so that is something that he will be aiming to improve - whether he stays in Triple-A or gets promoted to the majors.

Nevertheless, the Nationals have gotten themselves more outfield depth with Palacios. That's never a bad thing at all, and it will be intriguing to see if he can take that next step from here.
