MLB Rumors: Diamondbacks Considering Reunion With Veteran Outfielder

According to Jon Heyman, the Arizona Diamondbacks are considering the possibility of bringing back Justin Upton.

Upton was of course released by the Los Angeles Angels at the beginning of the season. At this juncture, the veteran outfielder has yet to find a new home. Perhaps a reunion with Arizona would make sense, as they selected him with the first-overall pick of the 2005 MLB draft and he played his best baseball there.

In 731 games with the Diamondbacks, Upton had 108 home runs, 363 RBIs, and a .278 batting average. With that, he appeared in two out of his four All-Star Games as a member of their squad and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2011. He last played for them in 2012, so it would be crazy to see him back with them one decade later.

It will be intriguing to see who ends up signing Upton, but boy, it would be a cool story to see the D-Backs do so.
