Giants And Mariners Complete Trade

The San Francisco Giants have acquired Mike Ford from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for cash.

Ford was designated for assignment by Seattle earlier this week, so it isn't too surprising to see the first baseman on the move. Now, he will be aiming to secure himself a spot on their major league roster from here. With Brandon Belt currently sidelined, he could very well at least get some reps with the Giants from here.

Ford has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last three seasons. In 101 career games with the Yankees, he has 17 home runs, 41 RBIs, and a .199 batting average. Overall, he has had some decent moments of power, but he has struggled to hit for contact. Let's see if the latter can change a bit more for him with this change of scenery.
