Yankees Sign Veteran Pitcher

The New York Yankees have signed Shelby Miller to a minor league contract. He also will be attending Spring Training with the major league squad.

Miller is coming off of a 2021 season where he had a good amount of struggles. In 13 appearances between the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates, he sported a 0-1 record and 9.24 ERA. Needless to say, he is heading into this upcoming campaign with the expectation of bouncing back.

These last handful of seasons have been very rough for Miller. He's had trouble staying healthy and has struggled when available. However, he also put together four very good seasons to begin his career, so perhaps he can rebound.

In 163 career games between the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Cubs, and Pirates, Miller has a 38-57 record, 4.19 ERA, and 630 strikeouts. He also appeared in the 2015 All-Star Game as a member of the Braves.

It will be interesting to see if Miller can make New York's major league roster from here.
