MLB Rumors: Surprising Team Linked To Carlos Correa

According to Raul Ramos, the Baltimore Orioles expressed interest in signing star shortstop Carlos Correa before the lockout began.

The Orioles have been at the bottom of the MLB standings for years now. Over their last three full 162-game seasons, they have lost at least 100 games. The 2021 campaign provided just that as well, as they finished the year with a disastrous 52-110. They are very much still trying to rebuild their roster, but with this development, could they be trying to speed up that process?

With how poorly Baltimore has played over these last handful of years, it would be very shocking to see Correa sign there. However, at the right price, I guess anything is possible. It's extremely interesting to hear that the Orioles are interested in signing him. They haven't been linked to top free agents for quite some time.

In 148 games last season with the Houston Astros, Correa had 26 home runs, 92 RBIs, and a .279 batting average. It was once again another very strong campaign from the 27-year-old, and he will be paid handsomely once the lockout is over because of it. He's been one of the top shortstops in the league for a while now, so we will have to wait and see where the star ends up.

Nevertheless, although Correa signing with Baltimore is a major longshot, their rumored interest in him is certainly a fun little development.
