Baseball Team Slaps Lifetime Ban On Rob Manfred

Citing their belief that "fun is the key to baseball", the Kalamazoo Growlers of collegiate baseball have officially banned major league commissioner Rob Manfred from attending their games—for life.

"The Kalamazoo Growlers... have placed a lifetime ban on current MLB commissioner Rob Manfred at Homer Stryker Field," said the release, which had a subtitle of "Manfred is Ruining Baseball". They continued, "The Growlers stand strong in their belief that fun is the key to baseball. Rob Manfred stands in direct opposition to these beliefs."

"Crimes against baseball"

The Growlers are a summer league team for collegiate players, in the Northwoods League. Another team in the same league recently banned Manfred from their games as well, but only until the lockout is over. That was simply not enough for the Growlers.

"The Growlers believe that a ban of that magnitude is not enough for his crimes against baseball."

The team opens their season on June 1st, and summed it all up with one final thought for its fans: "The team looks forward to seeing you at the ballpark this summer... But not Rob Manfred."
