MLB Rumors: 2 Bold Predictions for AL Central

2022 is going to be an interesting year for the American League Central division. This coming after a season where the Chicago White Sox won the division by a landslide after they were the only team over .500. This could certainly be changing this upcoming season as we dive into a couple of bold predictions for the division in 2022.

Bobby Witt Jr Becomes Household Name in Kansas City

One of the best prospects in baseball belongs to the Kansas City Royals as Bobby Witt Jr. is as talented as they come. The 21-year-old shortstop tore up the minor leagues, hitting .290/.361/.575 with 33 HR and 29 stolen bases in 123 games. His strong play did not go unnoticed as he took home Baseball America's award as Minor Leaguer of the Year. The Royals and their fans don't have a ton to be excited about but Witt Jr is here to change all of that in 2022. Look for the promising infielder to make the team out of spring training and have himself a top-3 rookie of the year type of season.

Detroit Tigers Smash Expectations, Finish Above .500

In 2021 the Tigers finished the season with a 77-85 record, landing them in third place in the AL central. The team has been busy this offseason signing starter Eduardo Rodriguez and have held formal conversations with shortstop Carlos Correa. Their rotation is now better than you think and with Rodriguez, the likes of Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal and Matt Manning could form an interesting staff with loads of talent. It's going to come down to consistent production out of their lineup and if AJ Hinch and company can find a way to add another proven bat, there's going to be more wins than losses in Motown.
