MLB Rumors: NL Team Interested In Nick Castellanos

Right before the MLB lockout began, All-Star outfielder Nick Castellanos was being heavily pursued by the San Diego Padres.

After the excellent season that Castellanos had in 2021, it makes sense why another team is being linked to him. In 138 games with the Cincinnati Reds, he had 34 home runs, 100 RBIs and a .309 batting average. That kind of production was enough for him to make his first All-Star Game. When seeing as how the Padres underperformed this season and finished with a 79-83 record, adding a guy like Castellanos could help them get back on track.

Once the lockout is completed, the Padres will certainly be up against many teams for Castellanos' services. The Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants were in on the sweepstakes, too, so they absolutely should be yet again once teams are allowed to talk to players again.
