Trade Rumor: Angels Interested In Reds' Star Pitcher

The Los Angeles Angels are currently engaging in trade talks with the Cincinnati Reds regarding star pitcher Luis Castillo.

The Angels have been having themselves a busy offseason thus far, as they added Noah Syndergaard, Aaron Loup and Tyler Wade. However, it is apparent that they are still looking to improve their roster. This is fantastic to see, as the Angels have two stars in Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani who desperately need to make the playoffs.

At this juncture, however, the Angels and Reds aren't close. With Castillo being just 28 years old and under team control until 2024, it is fair for Cincinnati to ask for a lot in return.

The 2021 season started off poorly for Castillo, but he ended with ended strong. As a result of this, he had an 8-16 record and 3.98 ERA. Over the course of his five-year career with the Reds, he has a 40-49 record, 3.72 ERA and 770 strikeouts. With that, he also was an All-Star in 2019.

This is something baseball fans should keep a close eye on from here. It is clear that the Angels are willing to make big moves right now, so it wouldn't be surprising to see them land Castillo.
